Robbery by Deception and Subsequent Evidentiary Issues Arising from Dual Witness Testimony in Criminal Proceedings

According to the facts revealed in the criminal investigation file, the accused, A and B, acting in concert, deceitfully induced a taxi driver (C) to transport them to a secluded location. Thereafter, they conducted questioning and, while armed with a knife, threatened and coerced C into surrendering a sum of cash. The public prosecutor subsequently filed charges against A and B for robbery.

During trial, C was examined as the first prosecution witness. His testimony introduced additional facts that further strengthened the evidentiary foundation of the case.

At the defense stage, A called one witness, who identified several individuals as witnesses, including B, who had previously testified as a prosecution witness. This raised procedural and evidentiary considerations regarding the admissibility and weight of testimony already given under a different capacity.
